This building has a story
The building went up in 1891 as a hotel by the train depot. It has been a chicken hatchery. In the 1960s it was moved down Main Street while the whole town stood and watched. In February of 2004 it burned to the ground, along with the rest of the block.
That August, the Amish community came and helped raise it back up. And the town it stands in is named for a Potawatomi chief who was marched off this land at gunpoint and walked home. That part is worth more than a paragraph, so we gave it a page.
