As 2016 comes to an end, I think it is important to reflect on the past and look towards the future in an attempt to learn from what has happened and plan for what will happen. It is incredible to me the amount of mistakes that happen repeatedly simply because people don't learn from what has gone wrong so they don't repeat it. As we move into 2017, I think it is a good time to look at a few basic life principles to take us into the new year with a fresh outlook on the future.
1. What has happend is in the past.
Whether you want to change the past or not, the fact is, you can't. the BEST think you can do for you and for those younlove is to learn from the past and make sure that ou don't repeat the same mistakes in the future.
2. What will happen is in the future.
You can control, to some degree, what happens in your future. When you look back at 2016, there are things that happened that ALL of us would have rather NOT, but the best things we can do it make sure that in 2017, those things are not duplicated.
3. What is happening is NOW!
You HAVE to learn to be present now! What is happening will never happen again! (As far as the same circumstances.) Your age, friends, activities and family will never be exactly who they all are now and it is vital that you live in the moment and enjoy all that God has given you.
So as we all move together into 2017, let's take a look at our past, use it to plan the future and enjoy the present that we are in now!
Many people think about church during December because growing up, Christmas and Easter may have been the only time they came to church. The familiar saying of "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" has passed through the lips of many people that I have met who I know full well do not believe in Jesus, and yet, during the Christmas season, they still utter the words. Have you ever stopped to think why that is? I propose to you that it is because Jesus is the reason for EVERY season, and it is just too overwhelming NOT to discuss it during the month where He was born.
Fact is, Jesus came to die for us too, and for that event we celebrate Good Friday, and then Easter for when He rose again. These celebrations are more than just words, gifts and Easter eggs though, they are THE reason for evwery season that we go through, both weather wise, and seasons of life. So during this month, make sure as you are making your resolutions for 2017 that you resolve to keep Jesus at the center of every season, all year long. He is worth giving EVERY day to, not just one specail day every year!
The atmosphere is an important part of what makes Earth livable. It blocks some of the Sun's dangerous rays from reaching Earth. It traps heat, making Earth a comfortable temperature. And the oxygen within our atmosphere is essential for life. We look at the atmosphere when you are out shopping in a similar way. If the atmosphere is toxic...people shoving, people being rude, terrible service...it simply isn't a place you want to be....it is, in other words, "unlivable". It is vital to us that we provide for all of our customers and our employees an atmosphere that is a warm, comfortable place to go. You can shop, eat, and relax with us. You can spend your money with us on products, or not...your choice...but that won't change the atmosphere that we provide. You see, there are many places to go spend your hard earned dollars, but there are very few shops that have an atmosphere that isn't stifling, or even toxic. We want to be that place for you and your family, and hopefully have our model catch on so that many more shops can have that warm and comfortable feel.
